ClearCourse bolsters payments offering with acquisition of Mosaic Software

London 8 December 2020 - ClearCourse Partnership LLP (“ClearCourse” or “the Group”), a group of innovative technology companies providing useful, integrated software solutions, has acquired Mosaic Software Limited (“Mosaic” or “the Company”), a cutting-edge payments solutions provider based in East Kilbride, Scotland. Mosaic, ClearCourse’s 22nd acquisition, adds to the Group’s rapidly growing payments processing capabilities.


Mosaic was founded in 1994 and has since been at the forefront of digital payments software solutions and web-based services in the UK. Mosaic’s product suite comprises BACS clearing, in-depth direct debit management, bank payment file generation, bank account validation and address validation, ensuring it can provide a full range of services for its over 500 clients including Aberdeen Football Club, the Leicester Tigers, Chester Zoo and Northumbrian Water. The Company’s solutions have been built from the ground up, with customer service and care intrinsic to its offering.

Mosaic’s direct debit capabilities are highly complementary to ClearCourse’s existing payments businesses and the teams will work closely to deliver innovative new solutions to their clients. In addition, Mosaic will benefit from a range of other value-added services, as well as operational guidance from the ClearCourse management team.

This strategic acquisition will be integrated as part of ClearCourse’s growing Business Services division. Founded in 2008, ThinkSmart is a scheduling and customer management platform for businesses that conduct classes and take bookings. Today, ThinkSmart serves approximately 2,500 customers predominately within the children’s activities sector, offering a user-friendly, intuitive product which helps “class-based” businesses with managing all day-to-day administration. Its award-winning software helps clients across the tennis, swimming, gymnastics, dance, music and sports sectors automate processes so that they can spend more time managing their business and working with their customers. ThinkSmart’s innovative technology streamlines several business admin tasks, including class scheduling, customer management and communications as well as invoicing and payments systems.
